MUSIC THERAPY WITH MAX GOLDMAN
We at Malibu Beach Recovery Center take great pride in our hands-on approach to recovery. We believe that the integration of music, art and yoga-type breathing exercises, alongside with the 12 Steps, is an important part of the recovery process. One aspect of our treatment that continues to flourish is our music program. We offer a hands-on, creative and structured music workshop centered around the individual needs of each client.
The workshop is instructed by Max Goldman, a professional musician with over 13 years of experience. Max has vast performance experience throughout the US. Having done several national tours as well as numerous recording sessions, Max Goldman has brought his real life experience into the classrooms, teaching college extension and high school level courses. It is his philosophy that the therapeutic value of music in early recovery is indispensable.
Shedding light on music fundamentals, theory and musicianship, our music workshop is rooted in songwriting and performance. In a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere, our music groups give clients the opportunity to learn to play musical instruments such as electric and acoustic guitar and keyboard. Our program offers vocal training as well as the study of song structure from a compositional standpoint. With great emphasis on individual attention, our goal is for clients to grasp and understand the basics of music while achieving creative fulfillment. Having been a focal point for many success stories, music therapy at Malibu Beach Recovery Center is an open forum for creativity and a melting pot of free expression.
